Services

Dr Rachel Evans provides private eating disorder recovery therapy, tailored to your unique recovery needs and goals. Although Rachel specialises in bulimia recovery (including self-induced vomiting, laxative abuse and compulsive exercise), she also sees clients with other difficulties, such as body dysmorphia, binge-eating, orthorexia, restrictive eating and exercise addiction on a case-by-case basis.

All services use an integrative and multi-disciplinary method, including nutrition and psychology.

This approach will help you to unlock the past causes of your eating disorder, give you the tools and mindset shifts that you need to make changes right now in your present, and help you visualise future you - free from an eating disorder and feeling comfortable in your body.

It's totally normal to feel scared and unsure about eating disorders and treatment

I felt that way too for months. In some ways it was fine when I was in denial, because I could convince myself that I was being healthy and ignore all the down-sides (although they were still having a very real effect on my health and wellbeing). .

Once I admitted that food was controlling me and hating my body was exhausting, it felt awful BUT then I could start to take action to make positive changes rather than staying stuck in a horrible limbo.

You've made it to here. You're not oblivious to what is going on for you and all the ways it's impacting your health &  happiness.

AMAZING. there's NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT TO TAKE BACK CONTROL AND START LIVING LIFE TO THE FULL.

It sounds like you need a Breakthrough day. Over 8 hours together we will explore the causes of your eating distress, use powerful techniques to shift limiting beliefs right in the session and map out an achievable recovery plan for you to take action on.

This is for you if
A) you're at the start of your recovery and not feeling ready to sign-up for weekly therapy sessions
B) you're experiencing a relapse and want to explore things not covered in therapy before that might be holding you back
C) you have been in stable recovery, but things have flat-lined and you know there is more to life than the restricted freedom that you have now.

other services

Do you work with children?

No. I believe that family-based therapy is the best approach for children. I work with over-18s who are ready to invest in themselves and commit to their recovery.

If you are looking for services on behalf of your child who is 18 or over, please email rachel@rachelevansphd.co.uk or have them fill out the 'clarity call' application form.

Can I work with you if I don't live in the UK?

Yes of course, I have helped clients from all over the world. If you're ready to commit to full recovery and weekly sessions via video call then I would love to hear from you.

I don't have a diagnosed eating disorder. Can I still work with you?

I work with clients experiencing other difficulties around food, body-image and exercise on a case-by-case basis. Please apply for a clarity call and tell me what is going on for you right now, then I will be able to advise if I can help you.

How can I work with you?

I offer a comprehensive 6 month recovery programme called Nourish, as well as 3 hour Breakthrough sessions and 1 hour 'Pick my Brains' sessions.

I DO NOT offer 'pay-per-hour' or 'drop-in-drop-out' style therapy.

Availability
I am currently on maternity leave and not taking new clients until June 2023.

more about me

I understand it can be scary to open up to someone about your eating disorder, trust me, I've been there. I was in denial about my issues with food for a long time. Then I realised that food was taking over my life and I was missing out on actually living.

Change can feel scary, but I believe FULL recovery is possible!
Since I recovered and trained as an eating disorder practitioner in 2018 I have helped hundreds of women to stop the restrict-binge cycle and feel comfortable in their body, through workshops, group programmes  and working one-to-one.
